receptor downregulation with long-term use

#1
Hi all,

I'm new to this forum. I have some wonderful results with St John's Wort. However, I noticed that it stopped working between 1 and 2 months of taking it regularly. I know this is due to receptors in the brain becoming desensitized or down-regulating. I took a 4 day break, started taking St John's again, and voila, it's working again! Does anyone have any experience with this? I have read that some people take a one week break every month to curb the down-regulation. I would obviously like to manage this as efficiently as possible so that I can feel good as often as possible! I would appreciate any insights/experiences any of you have to offer. Also any dosing schedules that you have had success or failures with. Thank you!
