Topic Title: Sam-e and vitamin B

I just started taking Sam-e and was wondering if I need to take vitamin B w/it? And if so, is there a specific type of B (B4, B12)? Thanks!

For best results it is recommended to also take TMG (trimethylglycine) 500mg-2000mg twice a day (which increases the metabolism of SAM-E), as well as co-factors such as folic acid up to 1mg/day, vitamin B6 up to 100mg/day, and vitamin B12 1mg/day. The best price I'm aware of on the internet for high quality B vitamins is hereicon. These nutrients will prevent SAM-E from being metabolized into harmful homocysteine and will help re-methylate homocysteine back to SAM-E, so they may be useful in those who want to reduce the dose of SAM-E, and still get the full benefits. If you don't take these, it can affect your heart from the homocystine. I just take the B12 (1mg/1,000mcg) and folic acid (1mg/1,000mcg). I guess I'll start taking some B6 also now that I read this.
