"Experiences with s** addiction" , Tue 18 Oct 21:34:

Hi all,
I'm a recovering s** addict and also suffer from depression. The last phase of my addiction was objectifying people. My counselor reccomended I get on prozac which tends to help with this. I was not wanting to start a prescription. I investigated St. John's Wort on this site and started taking 3 caplets before bed. I've been on St. John's Wort for a month. I must say it has really stopped the mental s** thoughts I finally feel I have control over invasive thoughts and gotten me out of a bad depression. I was concerned it would change my personality, but I honestly feel, my true personality has been restored. I've been going through a year long divorce, and a lot of stress at work, so St. John's Wort along with counseling has really improved my life. Wanted to pass this on to anybody else who has these particular challenges to share my hopeful experience. If anyone else has any feedback on this feel free to post.

Thanks!

I have been taking sjw for about 5-6 months. I am also going thru a difficult divorce. I take 2 pills in the am. Is there a difference in taking them in the evening? Like you, I feel sjw has restored my true personality. Well, either that or the a@@hole leaving (haha). Truthfully, sjw has been the best thing for me, 2 pills a day does wonders. Take care of yourself!!

Pisces,
Thanks pisces for your response. I take SJW in the evening since it helps me sleep. I tried taking them morning, noon and evening but it seemed to make me feel "spaced out" during the day. Glad SJW is helping you as well. I really struggled to take anything to help with my depression and stress with divorce, but I truly feel it has helped me through this time period. Don't think I'll take it forever, but I now understand how a lack of serotonin depleted by stress can really affect mental health.

Thanks!
